It is not uncommon in martial arts for champions from other disciplines, such as wrestling, jiu-jitsu or muay thai, migrate to MMA. This Monday (19), it was the turn of Glory heavyweight belt holder Rico Verhoeven to make his debut in mixed martial arts.
And Verhoeven's first experience in MMA couldn't have been better. The Dutchman faced Viktor Boguttzki at the Real Xtreme Fighting (RXF) 20 event, held in Romania, and won with a technical knockout in just over two minutes of fighting.
At 26 years old, Rico Verhoeven has a vast history in professional kickboxing, with 46 wins, 10 losses and one draw. Current Glory heavyweight champion, the “Prince of Kickboxing”, as he is known, puts his belt on the line on December 4th, against Benjamin Adegbuyi, in Amsterdam (Netherlands).
