Anderson vs. Sonnen
UFC President Dana White announced this Wednesday his next opponent. Anderson Silva. The “Spider”, who was the target of many complaints for his stance during the defense of his belt against Demian Maia (remember here), will face one of his fiercest critics. The American Chael Sonnen, who on several occasions verbally attacked the Brazilian (see here) will have the opportunity to compete for the coveted 84-kilo Ultimate belt.
The news was announced by Dana during her appearance on Jim Rome's program on ESPN. The president also commented on Anderson's performance at UFC 112 and said he will fire the Brazilian if he repeats the actions he had during the fight against Demian Maia.
There is still no official date for the duel, but according to several international websites, the expectation is that the confrontation will take place on July 3rd, at UFC-116.
