The Peruvian, Tony DeSouza, aka Mendigo, who lived in Brazil and trained with the Nova União team, asked for a rematch with Roan Jucão, to whom he was defeated at UFC-79, on the 30th, in Las Vegas.
Beggar who had a record of 4 victories and only one defeat against Brazilians, believes that the fight against Jucão was interrupted too early and that it could still change the game against the Brazilian.
“I think they stopped the fight too quickly, I was still able to recover, but that's okay, because Jucão did well and I'm happy for him. Things stopped where they had to, but I want to fight him again. I actually wanted to fight with him and Thiago (Thiago Alves, another Brazilian to beat Mendigo) in South America, where I feel at home. But win or lose, what counts for me in the sport is learning”, concluded Tony, who no longer has any fights under his contract with the UFC.
