Back at the gym, Jon Jones appears lifting almost 250 kg in training

Former champion said he broke his personal best by 32 kg even without training for more than a month and a half

After reaching a plea deal and freeing himself from charges for being involved in a traffic accident from which he fled without providing assistance to the victim, the former light heavyweight champion is now back in the gym and his preparation appears to be going strong aft. “Bones” released a video on social media in which he appears doing a deadlift exercise with almost 250 kg.

“First time deadlifting in the last six weeks and I lifted 545 pounds (247 kg, approximately) which is 70 pounds (32 kg) more than my personal best,” Jones wrote in his Instagram, along with several hashtags, including one in which he provoked the current champion of the under-93 kg division Daniel Cormier, “you still can’t hit me.”

At 28, Jon Jones He has a professional record of 21 wins and one loss, by disqualification, in a highly questionable result against Matt Hamill. Jones hasn't fought since January of this year, when he crashed Daniel Cormier in his last title defense, before being stripped of the title following the controversial traffic accident. Even free of the charges and cleared to return, Jones has not yet received approval from the UFC to return to the Octagon.
