The long-awaited fight between the former Bellator bantamweight champion Dudu Dantas and current title holder Marcos Loro will no longer be held on October 23rd, as planned by the organization. The postponement of the fight was motivated by an injury to Dudu, who will not be able to face his former Nova União teammate on the date.

The type of injury that took Dantas out of action, as well as the expected recovery time for the former champion or even a new date for the Bellator bantamweight title fight were not announced. The information about the cancellation of the fight was released by the North American podcast “The MMA Insiders”.
To replace the duel between Dudu and Loro at Bellator 144, the organization promoted the duel between the North American Brandon Halsey and the Brazilian Raphael Carvalho for the middleweight belt, which would initially be the co-main fight of the night. The event will take place in Uncasville (USA).
This would be the second time that Eduardo Dantas and Marcos Galvão would face each other. In the first meeting between them, Loro challenged his former colleague from Nova União for the title, but ended up defeated. Now, it's Marcos' turn to be the title holder, won after his triumph over Joe Warren, precisely Dantas' tormentor months ago.
