This Sunday morning (27), already night in Indonesia, the Brazilian Herbert Burns, younger brother of the jiu-jitsu coach of Vitor belfort Gilbert Durinho, took no notice of the Russian Timofey Nastyukhin, submitted his rival in the first round and reached his sixth victory in six fights, getting very close to a fight for the ONE FC featherweight belt.

Despite his vast history in the gentle art, Burns started the fight accepting the stand-up game, which is the Russian's specialty, and showed that training at “Evolve MMA” has done a lot of good for his striking. The Brazilian managed to move well on his feet and face his rival, a condition that allowed him to open the way for a providential takedown, even before the first minute of the fight.
Once on the ground, what we saw was Herbert's true outing, who with time on the clock and a lot of aggression, managed to work well and catch Nastyukhin's back. In the final half of the first round, the Brazilian managed a very tight rear-naked choke, forcing the Russian to tap out at 3m26s of the fight.
The dream of fighting for the featherweight belt, however, could end up being postponed by a few months until Herbert Burns, which he revealed in an interview with SUPER FIGHTS that ONE FC had promised him the position of number one challenger for the title. The problem that motivated the possible postponement, however, is beyond the fighter's or even the organization's responsibility.
Champion of the under-66 kg division, Mongolian Jadamba Narantungalag ended up having his entry visa denied by Indonesia and was unable to put his title on the line at the last minute. Therefore, ONE FC put an interim belt on the line, and Russian Marat Gafurov got the better of Martin Nguyen. Now, on a date yet to be announced, Gafurov and Jadamba will face each other in the title unification.
