Former star of the pro-wrestling organization WWE, CM Punk made waves in the MMA world when he announced that he would start competing in the UFC. Many criticized the North American's decision, stating that he is not capable of working in the largest organization on the planet. However, a former colleague who has a lot of experience on the subject showed support.

Mexican Alberto del Rio did something similar in the past. After years of “Lutcha Libre” events in his country and in Japan, he participated in real fights. Under the nickname “Dos Caras Jr”, Del Rio even fought in PRIDE, being known for acting with a mask on.
For him, CM Punk has enough skills and desire to do well in MMA, despite considering that many people want to see his friend fail in the attempt. “It will be difficult, but I know he has been giving it his all for months and months. I know he will be ready. He is an athlete, he has passion and he is hungry. I know a lot of people want him not to do well, but I'm 100% sure he's going to do well. I will be there to support you and wish you success. I'm not going to wish him luck, because he doesn't need luck. He will do well on this journey”, said the Mexican, in an interview with the North American website “Sporting News”.
Dos Caras Jr had 14 professional fights, winning nine and losing five. Two of his setbacks were in PRIDE, against Kazuhiro Nakamura, in the decision, as well as a cinematic knockout against Mirko Cro Cop, with a high kick in just 46 seconds. Afterwards, he returned to pro-wrestling and joined WWE, where he became close to CM Punk.
