Miesha Tate has not yet been able to fully digest the news that Holly holm, and not her, will be the next challenger for the UFC women's bantamweight belt, currently owned by Ronda Rousey.

The fighter, who has four consecutive victories inside the Octagon, even received a guarantee from Dana White that she would be the next to try to unseat the champion. However, she found out about the change in plans through the press, which made her even more upset.

“I found out half an hour after everyone else because I was asleep when it was announced. I woke up when there were like 30 messages on my cell phone saying 'oh, I'm so sorry', and I didn't understand. It sucked that the prosecutors didn't find out, so I felt disappointed. I was hurt, to be honest, because I was really motivated. I had reached another level. I was already training to face her, but then it was as if I had been shot in the heart”, declared the fighter, according to the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

Tate, who has already lost to Ronda twice (once in 2012, once in 2013), is expected to face the Brazilian Amanda nunes then in January. The champion will put her title on the line in November, in Australia, in the main fight of UFC 193.
