MMA fans have high expectations with the possibility of Fedor Emelianenko sign a contract to fight in the UFC. After all, it would be the greatest heavyweight in the history of the sport finally playing in the biggest organization today. However, there are those who do not feel excited about this scenario, which is the case of Chael Sonnen.

The loud-mouthed North American did not create many expectations with the Russian's possible arrival in Ultimate, as he considers that the legendary heavyweight's past loses value due to the fact that his greatest career performances took place in the now-defunct Japanese PRIDE event. “The truth about Fedor is that if you're not fighting in a fight supervised by an athletic commission, you're not in a real fight. If there is no supervision and there is no credibility, then it doesn't count. So, everything he did in Japan is thrown away”, he analyzed, in an interview with the “Submission Radio” podcast.

Sonnen points out that Fedor's performance immediately dropped as soon as he was hired by Strikeforce, starting to fight in the United States. “Fedor was destroyed by guys who are now being destroyed. Fedor was destroyed by Pezão, who was quickly knocked out by Frank mir. I know the UFC will pay more than they should for him, and good for him. He did everything correctly and is a great guy. I don’t want to come here and trash him, but he has three wins and three losses in the United States,” he recalled.

the situation of Fedor Emelianenko is still uncertain. Even though he confirmed that he would return to active duty, the Russian has not yet announced which organization he will fight for.
