With a card that already attracts public attention due to the unification of featherweight titles between Conor McGregor e José Aldo, in addition to the middleweight belt dispute between Chris Weidman e Luke Rockhold, UFC 194 has just received another important addition, with the promise of being one of the most technical grappling fights in recent times in the octagon: the duel between jiu-jitsu specialists Demian Maia and Gunnar Nelson.

At 37, Demian Maia has a professional MMA record of 21 wins and six losses. A former middleweight title challenger, Demian dropped down three years ago and has six wins and just two losses in the 77 kg division. The São Paulo native comes from three consecutive victories in Ultimate, the most recent of which was the submission over Neil Magny, at UFC 190, in August, in Rio de Janeiro.
Gunnar Nelson, 27 years old, has a record of 14 wins, one defeat and one draw. Training partner Conor McGregor in the “SBG Ireland” team, the Icelandic comes from a victory over Brandon thatch at UFC 189 in July. Like Demian, “Gunni”, as he is known, has 10 of his victories achieved by submission.
UFC 194 takes place on December 12th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). In the main fight of the night, the linear featherweight champion José Aldo face your biggest rival Conor McGregor, holder of the division's interim title, in the unification of the belts.
