UFC fighter announces retirement at age 31

This seems to be the time for early retirements in the UFC. After Frankie Perez, 26, and Jordan Mein, 25, hung up their gloves, it was time for Sam stout announce that he will stop competing professionally in MMA.

Stout, 31 years old, announced his plans on the official UFC television program on North American television, “UFC Tonight”. Despite his relative young age, the Canadian has plenty of experience in the sport, having been competing since 2003, arriving in the UFC in 2006.

“It became clear to me that I can no longer compete at the highest level in MMA. My best days as a fighter are behind me and it would be risky for my health to continue competing”, explained the now former fighter.

Thus, Stout leaves the sport with a record of 20 wins, 12 losses and one draw. In his last three fights, he suffered the only three knockouts of his career, against KJ Noons, Ross Pearson and the recently retired Frankie Perez.
