It's been a while since Minotouro fought frequently in the UFC. Since 2013, she has only had two fights, almost always seeing her preparation hampered by injuries. Therefore, being healthy at the moment, Rogério intends to make up for lost time.
“I would like to be fighting this year, I would like to keep the pace. I was hampered in the last three years by several stops, coming in after a year off. Any athlete has to be at the competition pace” said the fighter, in an interview with the “Combate” channel website.
In his next fight, Minotouro stated that he would like to face another PRIDE veteran. “There’s a guy I’d like to fight, which is Quinton jackson. He made a challenge to Shogun, I think it would be a great fight for me. He's a guy who already fought PRIDE in my time, he has a story. He was already ready to fight me in the UFC. Ultimately, Minotouro showed mixed feelings about his brother's retirement from the sport. “For him, I think it’s great. We are sad to no longer see Minotauro perform in the octagons, he is a great idol for me, he was my great supporter in the sport, but I am happy that he has a new challenge and continues working with what he likes”, he declared.
