With two Brazilians included, UFC announces 'package' of layoffs

In total, 13 athletes were released by the organization; Ildemar Marajó and Igor Araújo are part of the list

Once again, the Ultimate organization chose to announce several layoffs at once and, amid the list of 13 names that are no longer part of the biggest MMA event on the planet, two Brazilians ended up without a job: Ildemar Marajó and Igor Araújo , both coming from negative series.

Participant of the 16th season of The Ultimate Fighter, Igor Araújo was hired by the UFC in October 2013 and debuted against Ildemar Marajó. In the biggest organization on the planet, the “Jackson's MMA” athlete had two wins and two losses in the event, but the setbacks happened consecutively in his most recent appearances.

Ildemar Marajó, 32 years old, arrived in the Octagon in January 2013 and had seven fights in the organization. In total, Ildemar had four wins and three losses in the octagon, but he alternated between good and bad results in his last five fights, in addition to having won his only victory in more than a year and a half, over Rick Monster, in a highly contested decision.

In addition to Marajó and Araújo, the other athletes cut were: Hans Stringer, Dan Miller, Tom Watson, Andrew Craig, Anthony Christodoulou, Yosdenis Cedeno, Niklas Backstrom, Aaron Phillips , Cody Gibson, Royston Wee and Darrell Montague.
