Canadian UFC fighter announces retirement at age 25

In less than a week, the UFC saw the second young athlete, still in his 20s, announce his retirement from professional MMA. after the Frankie Perez's surprising goodbye last Sunday (23), it was Canadian Jordan Mein's turn to hang up his gloves at just 25 years old.

The information about Mein's retirement was confirmed during this Wednesday's edition of “UFC Tonight”, the organization's official newspaper on North American TV.

Despite his young age, “Young Guns”, as he is known, had a vast career in MMA. The Canadian had his first fight at just 16 years old, facing Rory McDonald, and since then he has had no less than 39 professional fights.

Jordan debuted in the biggest MMA organization on the planet at home in March 2013, with a victory over Dan Miller at UFC 158. The Canadian had five fights in Ultimate, with three wins and two losses.

In his last fight, Mein was defeated by technical knockout by the Brazilian Thiago Pitbull on January 31, in a fight held on the main card of UFC 183.
