Brazilian fighters have a long history in Japanese tournaments and the next name to represent the country in a Japanese championship will be heavyweight Fernando “Santo Forte”. The 28-year-old athlete, who divides his training between “Team Nogueira” and “011”, will take part in the semifinals of the Inoki Genome Fight (IGF) GP next Saturday (29).

Before facing Swede Yosef Ali Mohammad, “Santo Forte” analyzed his opponent and spoke about his relationship with the Japanese public. “I have never trained so much. I am focused and well trained. The guy is a prodigy, he works very well on the ground and is also good at striking, but I'm grabbing this opportunity in Japan tooth and nail. The Japanese liked me there. Brazilian athletes have a history there and they really like it. For this next fight, the idea is to enter with a half-Brazilian and half-Japanese flag to thank all of this,” he said.
