The series of public provocations and jabs between Luke Rockhold e Chris Weidman continued this week. The two North Americans, who will face each other in December for the UFC middleweight belt, have been having a war of words, and this time it ended up being defeated by a trio of former Brazilian fighters.

The title challenger tried to belittle the achievements of the current champion, who established himself in Ultimate by beating Anderson Silva, Vitor belfort e Lyoto Machida. Rockhold made puns on the fighters' nicknames and cited some episodes that marked their careers, such as the fracture in “Spider's” leg and the end of TRT, which ended up interfering in the trajectory of Belfort, who calls himself “Leão”.

“He fought a lot of guys who were afraid of him. He fought a one-legged spider, a dragon that doesn't breathe fire, and an old lion who had his balls ripped off. This time, he will face a different animal and I will take the fight to a different level to take him down”, he teased, in an interview with the podcast “The MMA Hour”.

For Rockhold, Weidman is confident because he is not correctly assessing his potential. “I don’t know where he thinks he’s going to break me. I think he's underestimating every aspect of my game. He'll be surprised when he tries to fall for me and I fight him off every time. This fight will take place on the feet, and I don’t know what he will do to try to surprise me”, he analyzed.
