In an interview given to the website Tatame, the Brazilian Lyoto Machida evaluated his victory by submission with an arm triangle, over Cameroonian Thierry Sokoudjou, at UFC-79 in Las Vegas, United States.
“Well, I thought he would give me more work on the ground, as he came from Judo, but I managed to impose my game. The first round was a little turbulent, due to his strategy, I had to hold back a little in this round. In the second round, I was instructed to rotate and hit more. I was already expecting a more explosive guy, a tough opponent. There was nothing different from what I knew of him”, said Lyoto, who eagerly awaits the announcement of his next opponent. “They still haven’t said anything about the next fight. I would like to fight for the belt, but that’s up to the event to decide”, he concluded.
