Last week, Anderson Silva was suspended for a year by the Nevada Athletic Commission, saw his victory over Nick Diaz be reversed into a I didn't answer and even received a fine of more than R$1 million for his doping case earlier this year. However, in the opinion of UFC welterweight Matt Brown, the punishment for Spider was still lenient. During an interview, Brown called the Brazilian a “cheater” and called for his permanent ban from MMA.

“I have no respect for people who cheat. As I've said several times before, I think he should be suspended for four years and his entire damn paycheck taken away. That is if they don't give him a lifetime ban. I don’t see anything wrong with banning (him) for life,” Brown said on “The Great MMA Debate” podcast.

With the punishments applied by the Nevada Athletic Commission, Anderson Silva now he has a professional record of 33 wins, six losses and one fight without result. As the suspension applied is retroactive, Spider will only be able to return to the octagon from February 1, 2016, one year after the day following his fight against Nick Diaz at UFC 183. Additionally, the Brazilian will have to present a clean drug test before applying for his next license to fight.
