After more than seven months and several postponements, Anderson Silva finally has a date set to face the Nevada Athletic Commission (NSAC) in order to present its version of the doping case in the fight against Nick Diaz at UFC 183. The Spider hearing will take place on Thursday, August 13th.

The information was released on the website of the “Combate” channel. According to the director of the NSAC, Bob Bennet, after three requests for postponement, Anderson's defense finally presented its response to the accusation made by the Attorney General of the State of Nevada, Christopher Eccles and, now, the process can continue. The date the response was sent, however, was not reported by Bennet.
Despite marking the first face-to-face meeting between Spider, or its legal representatives, with the Athletic Commission, the hearing will only be informative. Thus, a possible punishment or acquittal of the former champion will only be defined at a future meeting, with no date yet set, when the trial will take place.
At 40, Anderson Silva has a professional record of 34 wins and six losses. After being caught twice in anti-doping tests for UFC 183, Anderson has until August 7th to present his defense and finally go through the Nevada Athletic Commission's judgment, in a disciplinary hearing with no official date yet. Recently, it was reported that one of Spider's positive tests presented inconsistent results when analyzed by another laboratory, but the information was not commented on by the fighter, his team, Ultimate or the Commission itself.
