Under heavy rain in Vila Velha, another edition of the Jungle Fight. Despite the completely soaked ring, which hindered the smooth running of the fights, the athletes did not disappoint and put on a great show for the public present in the open-air stands at Praia do Costa, in the city of Espírito Santo.
Among the combats, the highlight was the beautiful victory of Rodrigo Damm about the Peruvian Ivan Pitbull and the surprising victory of Edson Conterraneo over the favorite Gerônimo Mondragon by withdrawal.
Edson Conterraneo vs. Geronimo Mondragon
At the beginning of the fight, Conterraneo didn't want to take any chances with his striking and soon looked for a takedown on Mondragon, but the fighter based in Pará used his sprawl well to defend himself and still connected the best blows from above. However, halfway through the first round, the athletes were already showing fatigue and the duel lost its technical quality. In the second round, Edson continued to insist on takedowns and Geronimo looked for boxing. With the fighters very tired, the position reversal was constant. Already exalted, Mondragon was unable to continue the fight and handed the victory to bricklayer Edson Conterrâneo.
Rodrigo Damm vs. Ivan Pitbull
In the fight most awaited by the public, the local athlete Rodrigo Damm had a great fight against the tough Ivan Pitbull. At the beginning of the fight, the Peruvian started better, connecting more blows in his striking, however, when trying for a takedown he ended up losing his balance in the wet ring and falling on the bottom. Rodrigo took advantage and stabilized his position on top, punishing his opponent with ground and pound. In the second round the story was different, the Brazilian started better, but Pitbull managed to recover, connected more blows, and ended up controlling the ring. In the third round the fight remained quite balanced until a very strong right hand from the Brazilian hit the Peruvian, which resulted in a knockdown. Rodrigo took advantage of the opportunity well and continued scoring on the ground. At the end of the duel, victory for Rodrigo Damm in the unanimous decision of the referees.
Carina Damm vs. Aline Seriously
Performing at home, Carina Damm had no difficulty beating Aline Sério from São Paulo. After looking for striking, Aline was quickly taken down by Carina, who mounted and punished her opponent until the referee interrupted, declaring the local fighter's victory by technical knockout.
