Fired by the UFC last year after a turbulent police episode that even involved SWAT teams, the Brazilian Thiago Silva yet another saw his name involved in a major controversy with the law, this time with the Nevada Athletic Commission. A few days before WSOF 22, Thiago had his license to fight denied by the organization and was cut from the event.

The justification presented by the body was Thiago's history with the commission.
