Changes in the main fight of Bitetti Combat, an event that takes place on the 25th, in Brasília. Due to personal problems, Paul Philo won't be able to face the Japanese Yuki Sasaki and to take his place, the show's organizers called on former UFC fighter Thales leites.
“Paulão is taking care of his personal problems and, together, we reached this decision. I think Thales is a worthy replacement, a fighter who recently challenged for the UFC belt, the biggest event in the world. He is trained and was dying to fight”, explains Amaury Bitetti, producer of the event. “The opponent will be the same, the Japanese Yuki Sasaki. Paulão will fight again at Bitetti Combat whenever he wants, there is no resentment. He even assured that he would fight, despite everything, in a very professional attitude. But we think it's best to preserve it. He will return in the next edition”, he concludes
“I wanted to fight since the Maracanãzinho edition. I'm trained, because I'll fight for the MFC belt in April”, he says Thales leites.
Another change to the card will be in combat Fabio Maldonado. Dutchman Valentijn Overeem was injured and will not fight in the federal capital.
“Everything was fine, Valentijn had confirmed everything, but he said he was injured. What can we do? In the UFC, which takes place today in Australia, Cro Cop's opponent was changed at the last minute. The same happened in the Rolles (Gracie) fight. These are things that happen all over the world and are beyond our control. We called up striker Guto Inocente, who is from Brasília. A lot of people there have already been asking him to fight and I think it will be a good fight”, says organizer Fernando Miranda, who guarantees that all other fights are confirmed.
