Frank mir confirmed once again the resurgence of his career in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 71, on Wednesday night (15). In the octagon set up in San Diego, in the US state of California, the 36-year-old veteran knocked out Todd Duffee to win his second fight in a row.

The fight started at an intense pace, with the two athletes exchanging frank blows in the center of the octagon. Even though he was apparently out of shape, Mir landed good punches on Duffee, which he felt. The young American tried to respond, but Mir didn't give him space, even holding on in the clinch and throwing knees.
Then, it was Duffee's turn to hit Mir, who shook it. Trying to take advantage of the good moment, Duffee threw completely open blows, which left him unprotected and opened up gaps for the counterattack. Mir took advantage and threw a well-aimed cross at Duffee's chin, who fell unconscious, with his face facing the ground. All of this happened in just 1min13s of combat.
“I wanted to beat a young fighter at what he does best, which is attacking. If someone charges at you like a bull, you can't back down. The fight was less technical than I would have liked, but I fought a young bull and showed that I can be the killer,” said Mir, still in the Octagon.
With this, the former heavyweight champion obtains his second knockout in a row, as he had previously beaten Antonio Pezão in February. Duffee, in turn, sees a three-game winning streak interrupted.
