Wanderlei Silva accuses UFC of 'framing' McGregor's title

Since retiring from MMA, and entering into litigation with the organization over his ban from the sport in Las Vegas following his escape from a surprise drug test, Wanderlei Silva declared war on UFC and President Dana White. Therefore, the former PRIDE champion wasted no time and, shortly after the end of UFC 189, he took to social media to raise suspicions about a possible setup in the outcome of the night's main fight, the victory of Conor McGregor about Chad Mendes in the interim featherweight title fight.

Publishing in English on your official profile on Twitter, the Brazilian even said that the UFC is close to becoming telecatch (mix of performing and martial arts). “Armed fights! We are going to be the WWE (main organization of telecatch from the USA). This is the end of the line, I'm so sad!” she wrote.

In Portuguese, however, Wand was more restrained and only suggested a conspiracy theory and asked his fans' opinions. “Was the fight bought? What do you think? If it was, then we have reached the end of the line”, questioned the former fighter, also on the microblogging network.

Without fighting since 2013, Wanderlei Silva He ended his career with a professional record of 35 wins, 12 losses, one draw and one unsuccessful fight. The Brazilian is still trying to have his ban from MMA in Nevada reversed by the local Athletic Commission, but a final decision on the case still seems to be far from being reached. Until then, despite all the controversy and the end of his professional career, Wand remains under contract with the UFC.
