Jones is in good spirits, trains hard and is preparing his return to the UFC, says training partner

Despite being involved in several problems in his personal and professional life, Jon Jones He remains optimistic and works hard to make his return to MMA fights possible. The guarantor is Igor Araújo, a Brazilian training partner of the former UFC light heavyweight champion at Jackson's MMA gym, in Albuquerque, in the United States.

In April, Jones was involved in a controversial traffic accident, in which he ran a red light and hit a car driven by a pregnant woman. More than that: the fighter fled on foot without providing assistance, returning to his vehicle only to collect a sum of money. The woman is doing well.

For this reason, Jones had his light heavyweight belt taken away and was suspended indefinitely. According to Araújo, the problems do not appear to be affecting the North American's mood.

“He trains every day. He always makes jokes with others and laughs. I spoke to him the other day and he is calm, quite optimistic. The coach tells us what to do and he trains normally, every single day. He’s in shape,” he explained, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”. “The day Jones returned to the gym, they made him clean the mat when training was over. They always choose someone to clean the mat after training, and he didn't complain about having to do that. He’s a great guy and I admire him in the gym.”

Jones still has no idea when he will return to fighting. Araújo, also a UFC athlete, will step into the octagon on July 15th, when he will face Sean Strickland.
