Hidehiko Yoshida announces retirement

The Japanese star Hidehiko Yoshida announced earlier this week that he is retiring from the MMA ring. The fighter, gold medalist at the Barcelona Olympics, debuted in MMA in 2002, when he submitted the American Don Frye, at Pride

Yoshida accumulated nine wins, seven defeats and one draw in his career. The 40-year-old fighter will make his last appearance, on April 25th, for the Astra organization and still has no defined opponent.

In his last fight, the black belt defeated the current Olympic judo champion, Satoshi Ishii, on K-1 Dynamite, December 31st.
