UFC president, Dana White, believes that telecatch star CM Punk will be ready to make his MMA debut in early 2016. The director has been following the new fighter's progress in training, which is being carried out at the Roufusport gym, in Milwaukee, the same place where the former lightweight champion trains Anthony Pettis.
“The agreement is that he will call me when he is ready to fight. I think it will happen at the beginning of next year”, said White, in an interview with the North American website “TMZ Sports”.
White also praised the evolution of CM Punk, who will make his UFC debut without having ever competed in mixed martial arts before. “His training is... First of all, let me start by saying this: the respect this guy has earned from his team, his coaches... He's an animal. He moved to Milwaukee to be close to the training ground. He's committing to this. The guy is tough and it's been a pleasure to work with him. He looks phenomenal,” he noted.
