The UFC has confirmed the identity of the next challenger for Demetrious Johnson by the fly belt. In fact, it will be an old acquaintance of the champion: John Dodson, who comes from three consecutive victories inside the Octagon.

Johnson and Dodson faced each other in January 2013, in what was the champion's first title defense. And, for many, it was Johnson's closest fight since he won the title, winning the fight in a close decision by the judges.

The fight was confirmed by UFC president, Dana White, on the organization's official program on the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”, UFC Tonight. The date and location have not yet been chosen, but Johnson has already expressed his desire to participate in the UFC 191 card, on September 5th, in Las Vegas (USA).

The choice of Dodson frustrates the intentions of Jussier formiga, the best-positioned Brazilian in the official flyweight rankings. The third-placed fighter comes from three wins in a row, despite losing to Dodson himself in his UFC debut in 2012.
