“I arrived at the hotel for breakfast and there was Cain, the Daniel Cormier and the Luke Rockhold, who I don't get along with much, and I greeted DC, because I've known him for many years. He gave me a normal hug, then I went to greet Velásquez, as I always did, and he told me: 'No, I'm not going to greet you'. But he stayed a little behind like that, you know? And I kept my hand up and he said that I had said things about him, but I didn't say anything bad about him, I said some things to promote the fight, because we were very friendly and so on and I had to promote a little. I said that he wasn't Mexican, that he was American and so on, but at no point did I insult him or speak ill of him. I thought he was joking at first, because Cain said he wasn't going to greet me and kept looking at me.
