After his second loss to Georges St Pierre, at UFC-79, the greatest UFC welterweight champion, Matt hugs, ponders his career and thinks about retirement. With a career with 41 wins and just 6 losses, Matt won the organization's vacant title when he beat Carlos Newton, at UFC-38, in November 2001 and lost the belt to Georges St Pierre in November 2006, at UFC-65.
“I recently wrote a book about my life, my fans read it and liked it, and I'm thinking about writing another one. I need to talk to Dana and the UFC organization to know what to do. Now I honestly don’t know,” said Hughes
