Passed over by the UFC, Jacaré considers facing the winner of Lyoto x Romero

According to the athlete's manager, Gilberto Faria, the duel would not be ideal for the Brazilian, but the only one that could make sense at the moment

The Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare suffered a severe blow on Wednesday night (03), when the UFC announced that Luke Rockhold will be the next challenger for the middleweight belt. With five consecutive victories in the Octagon, but without a chance for the title, Jacaré believes there are few meaningful duels currently available and, according to his manager, he named the winner of the duel between Luke Rockhold e Yoel romero, who will face each other on June 27th, as their potential target.

“The only fight that might make sense in the future, and keep Jacaré on pace for a title fight, would be to face the winner of Lyoto Machida e Yoel romero. So, by doing this, we would prevent Jacaré from getting 'rusty' by not fighting for the belt. Maybe it will take longer, but this middleweight belt is coming to Jacaré and, against whoever it is, he will be ready for battle”, said agent Gilberto Faria, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Despite pointing out the possibilities for Jacaré's future, the businessman did not stop regretting Ultimate's decision to select Rockhold to face Weidman – according to him, the only two names that would do justice to the Brazilian's current moment. “We don’t have an official position yet. The only two fighters that would really make sense for Jacaré would be Weidman and Rockhold. Nobody else makes that much sense at this point,” he assured.

At 35, Ronaldo Jacare He has a professional record of 22 wins, three losses and one unsuccessful fight. Former champion of the extinct Strikeforce, Jacaré is currently second in the official ranking of the middleweight category, exactly behind his next opponents for the title, the champion Chris Weidman and the challenger Luke Rockhold.
