UFC Fight Night 67, held on Saturday night (30), in Goiânia, capital of Goiás, presented a very negative mark. With an audience of approximately 3500 people in the stands at Goiânia Arena, the event recorded the worst box office of all 22 Ultimate events ever held in Brazil.

Until then, the UFC's smallest audience in the country had been Fight Night 61, in Porto Alegre (RS), in February this year. The attraction, headlined by Antonio Pezão against Frank mir, had 5080 spectators.

Director of the UFC in Brazil, Giovani Decker gave his explanation for what happened and said that the situation is not bad at all. “We know that Brazil is going through an economic crisis, and this is reflected in all areas of the economy and in our events. In terms of pay-per-view sales and Combate channel subscribers, we are reaching historic numbers. If on the one hand the event did not reach a large number, on the other hand we are reaching large numbers”, he argued.

On the UFC's first visit to Goiânia, in November 2013, the situation was very different. With Vitor belfort e Dan Henderson in the main fight, the Goiânia Arena received 10500 people, triple the number seen this Saturday.
