UFC Goiânia fighters did not undergo any surprise doping tests

Brazilian Commission reveals that the only test to be done is urine and that it will be carried out on the night of the fights

The UFC and the Nevada Athletic Commission recently adopted measures to combat doping in MMA. However, the next event to be held by the largest organization on the planet shows that the fight against banned substances still has a long way to go.

According to information from the North American website “MMA Junkie”, all 22 fighters who will participate in UFC Fight Night 67, in Goiânia (GO), did not undergo an anti-doping test even during their training period. The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) revealed that tests will only be carried out on fight night, with athletes providing urine samples.

In events held in Las Vegas (USA), approved by the Nevada Commission, some athletes on the card often undergo exams during the training period. It was in one of them that Anderson Silva was caught using anabolic steroids at the time of his fight against Nick Diaz, in January.

At the beginning of this year, the UFC announced that, starting in July, it will subject all of its athletes to surprise doping tests. From September onwards, the Nevada Commission will impose severe punishments on athletes caught.
