While awaiting his next fight, the middleweight champion Chris Weidman already have an opinion on the two biggest favorites for the next title challenger: Luke Rockhold e Ronaldo Jacare. For Weidman, Rockhold is a complete fighter, but he is not brilliant in any aspect. As for the Brazilian Jacaré, he would be a more dangerous opponent than the North American.

“If I had to say who is the most dangerous athlete, I would say Jacaré, but he probably has more holes in his game than Rockhold,” said Weidman, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast. “Rockhold is a complete guy, but he’s not excellent at anything. He's not the best striker I've ever faced, he's not the best jiu-jitsu guy. Jacaré brings a different element. He's really good on the ground and probably more dangerous on the feet than Rockhold. Rockhold is complete and maintains a solid pace throughout the fight. They are completely different athletes,” he added.

After Weidman's last title defense, on Saturday (23) against Vitor belfort, UFC president Dana White left the name of the next challenger up in the air, contradicting himself and stating that “Rockhold is number one, but Jacaré could be the next to fight for the belt”. If Jacaré faces Weidman, this would be the American's fifth consecutive fight against Brazilian athletes. He comes from victories over Anderson Silva (twice), Lyoto Machida e Vitor belfort.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
