The 2016 Olympics, in Rio de Janeiro, could feature yet another MMA fighter who is involved with doping problems. After Anderson Silva expressing a desire to obtain a place in taekwondo, it was time to Hector Lombard reveal their plans to participate in the games' judo competition.

Lombard is suspended from the UFC after being caught using anabolic steroids at the event on January 3, in Las Vegas (USA). To prove his ability to compete without the aid of banned substances, the Cuban hopes to be able to represent Australia, where he lived for a long time, in the competition.
“I want to prove that I don’t need [banned substances]. Everyone knows what recently happened to me in the UFC. I want to prove that I don’t need anything to compete at a high level”, said Lombard, in an interview with the “Submission Radio” podcast.
Unlike Anderson, who does not have any experience in the Olympics, Lombard already has participation in the games on his resume. It was in Sydney, Australia, in 2000, when he was eliminated in the early stages in judo up to 73 kg. At the time, the fighter took the opportunity to desert the Cuban delegation and remain in the country.
