The main fight of UFC 187 is between Daniel Cormier e Anthony Johnson, but, without a doubt, the most anticipated view of the Media Day (the day on which athletes meet the international press) was among the protagonists of the co-main event: Vitor belfort e Chris Weidman. And fans were not disappointed. Sporting a stylized haircut, a mohawk with a cross on the side, Vitor had a tense face to face with Weidman and the atmosphere became heavy at the MGM Grand Garden.

At the beginning, the rivals even greeted each other, but the friendly atmosphere did not go beyond shaking hands. Staring at Weidman, Belfort raised his fists and got very close to his rival's face, who preferred to keep his arms lowered when facing him. Fearing any contact between the athletes, which could trigger confusion, President Dana White soon placed himself between the Brazilian and the North American, putting an end to the moments of tension between champion and challenger.
In the other views, the weather was quite mild, especially compared to that seen between Belfort and Weidman. Daniel Cormier e Anthony Johnson, stars of the night's main fight, preferred a friendly tone, while heavyweights Travis Browne and Andrei Arlovski, who duel on the main card, even went a little overboard and hugged each other amidst lots of smiles on stage.
This Friday (22), starting at 20pm (Brasília time), the rivals will face each other again, this time after passing through the scales, at the official UFC 187 weigh-in.
