Russian MMA fighter Aleksander Emelianenko was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for a case of rape and assault in March last year.

Emelianenko, younger brother of one of the greatest fighters of all time, Fedor Emelianenko, responded to a lawsuit filed by the then employee of his house. She alleged that the drunk fighter sexually abused her, although Emelianenko insisted the sex was consensual.
The accusation sought a sentence of up to six years, but Emelianenko received a 54-month detention, plus a fine of 50 rubles (approximately R$3).
Emelianenko, 33 years old, has a record of 23 wins and seven losses in professional MMA. The Russian is best known for his long stint at PRIDE, where he beat the likes of Assuério Silva and Sergei Kharitonov. He has also faced and lost to the likes of Mirko Cro Cop, Fabricio Werdum and Josh Barnett.
