The Brazilian Chris Cyborg was once again the target of the UFC champion Ronda Rousey, who in a recent interview spared no provocation towards his rival and said that she is nothing more than a “bunch of muscles and steroids with no technique”. However, unlike other opportunities, Cyborg preferred not to respond in kind and adopted a more measured tone in his reply to the challenger, published on his official profile on Facebook.

“A Ronda Rousey keeps talking nonsense. When she started using my name in interviews to build her own name during the Strikeforce days, it used to drive me crazy. However, things have reached a point where I now feel sorry for her”, wrote the Brazilian in part of her long text published on the social network.

However, as she developed her response, the Invicta FC featherweight champion ended up not resisting and needling her rival, citing the The blonde's recent revelations about drug and alcohol abuse in the past – after the defeat at the 2008 Olympic Games, in which he ended up with the bronze medal in judo. “There must be a reason for a high-level athlete to give herself up to be a victim of substance abuse, be it painkillers or hallucinogenic drugs. I think a lot of her attitude comes from the insecurity she has outside the Octagon, away from the fights,” she said.

At another point, Cyborg, surprisingly, even tried to adopt a tone of advice to her rival. “I pray that Ronda can find the same happiness that I have, as God has blessed my life inside and outside of the sport of MMA”, says the excerpt.

Finally, the Brazilian also mentioned a hypothetical, and long-awaited, meeting with her rival inside the Octagon. “If this fight finally happens, I won't go for the belt. It's her spirit I'm going to break, for all the bad things she said about me. She made this a personal matter and this is not something an opponent wants to do against me”, she sentenced.

Ronda Rousey keeps talking nonsense.

When she started using my name in interviews to build her own name during the Strikeforce days, it used to drive me crazy. However, things have gotten to the point where I now feel sorry for her.

You can tell she is not happy in life. She's a UFC world champion and has the same grumpy face no matter what photo you see of her.

In practically every interview she gives, she is talking bad about people, be it me, the Miesha Tate, the ring girls or an ex-boyfriend, and the only time she's saying something nice about someone she's talking about herself (laughs). I'm sure even she doesn't believe she has the best butt in MMA.

PUBLICITY:

This is a girl with so few real friends. I mean, the UFC practically has to beg fighters to congratulate her on Twitter for being on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

She has struggled to find an identity outside of Judo and fighting, and using her money and popularity to build her own entourage. How many of those “horsewomen” were there before her career took off? They will continue to help if she doesn't continue to pay for their housing and help with their careers. Only she knows that answer, but there must be a reason for a high-level athlete to give herself up to be a victim of substance abuse, be it painkillers or hallucinogenic drugs. I think a lot of her attitude comes from the insecurity she has outside the octagon, away from the fights.

When my career is over, I will still have the same friends as before I started. Regardless of whether this fight against Ronda happens one day, I can return to Brazil and continue to live my blessed life with my family, who loves me, in a country that admires everything I have represented.

I pray that Ronda can find the same happiness that I have, as God has blessed my life inside and outside of the sport of MMA.

If she needs to keep bringing up my name in interviews and constantly putting me down about my appearance or even past mistakes, it just shows me how much she lacks confidence in herself.

There's a reason she says she'll only fight me at 61,2 kg, despite telling anyone who will listen that she would win the Cain Velazquez, I would fight Laila Ali or whatever nonsense she drops in the next interview, and it's because when she loses to me she will lose her entire identity. When the cameras aren't around and everyone has gone home, I think she's just, really, a lonely, unhappy soul, and that's a sad way to live her life.

I know the real reason she isn't willing to face me at catchweight and it has nothing to do with my past mistakes, and everything to do with the fact she doubts herself.

If this fight finally happens, I won't go for the belt. It's her spirit I'm going to break, for all the bad things she said about me. She made this a personal matter and this is not something an opponent wants to do to me.
