Khabib Nurmagomedov received several criticisms after the injury that took him out of UFC 187, at the end of the month, when he would face Donald Cerrone. However, there were two criticisms in particular that particularly bothered him, when he was the target of the words of Anthony Pettis e Nate diaz.

Pettis joked about the Russian's new injury, saying it was pure “karma”. Diaz went further and stated that Nurmagomedov, who hasn't fought since April last year, is “made of glass”. The words irritated the fighter, who responded aggressively.

“These guys didn't want to fight me, but now they're talking nonsense because they know I'm hurt and I can't fight. I could fight these two in the same night. They are easy money for me. These guys need to shut up because they were terrible in their last fights. You saw how I dominated Dos Anjos and he crushed those two jokes. So these guys need to shut up and train”, said Nurmagomedov, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Despite the long period of inactivity, Nurmagomedov remains in second place in the official UFC lightweight rankings. Pettis, ranked first, would fight in July against Myles Jury, but ended up getting injured. Diaz doesn't have a fight scheduled.
