Edgar bets on Aldo to win: 'McGregor has never caught someone as strong as him'

Former lightweight champion warns, however, of the Irishman's efficiency, but expresses his desire to be the fighter to defeat the Brazilian

Former UFC lightweight champion and former featherweight title challenger, Frankie Edgar You already know who to bet on for what is one of the most anticipated fights of the year in MMA. According to the North American, José Aldo is the favorite to defeat Conor McGregor in the main attraction of UFC 189, on July 11, in Las Vegas (USA).

Edgar considers that McGregor has not yet faced an opponent as skilled as the Brazilian in the Octagon, but warns that the Irishman has indeed been impressive in the fights he has had. “Conor has never met someone as strong as Aldo. I'm going to bet on the champion on this one. But let's keep an eye on McGregor. He's been beating everyone devastatingly and got the fight, so that's all that matters. Whether he deserves it or not is in the past. He already has a commitment on July 11th”, he analyzed, in an interview with the English newspaper “Daily Star”.

Edgar, defeated by Aldo in February 2013, expressed his desire to be the fighter to defeat the Brazilian in the featherweight division in the future. “I want the belt and Aldo has already defeated me in the past, and I want to be the fighter who takes the belt from him”, warned the fighter, who faces Urijah faber this Saturday (16), at UFC Fight Night 66, in the Philippines.
