Nick Diaz asks for a rematch with Anderson Silva and suggests: 'We should fight in a ring'

North American, defeated by 'Spider' in January, stated that he would like to face his rival again under rules similar to PRIDE

Nick Diaz seems not to have forgotten the defeat he suffered against Anderson Silva at UFC 183 at the end of January. The American fighter went public and asked on social media for a rematch with the Brazilian, even suggesting that this happen under different rules compared to the first meeting.

In a post made to your account on Instagram, Diaz wrote: “Ready for the rematch. I won my last fight and learned how a real fight works. UFC needs to incorporate yellow cards for those who run away from the fight. It would be much better for the fans and the sport. We should be fighting in a ring instead of a cage, where we always see people escaping through the corners,” he said, then bowing to the rules used by the now-defunct Japanese PRIDE event.

However, it seems unlikely at the moment that Anderson Silva e Nick Diaz take revenge. Both fighters failed doping tests after the fight (Anderson for anabolic steroids and Diaz for marijuana), which leaves them subject to suspensions soon.
