Official UFC commentator on the North American broadcast, Joe Rogan raised a curious hypothesis about the possible causes that made Jon Jones getting involved in yet another mess, which this time cost him the Ultimate light heavyweight title.

On April 27, Jones crossed a red light in the city of Albuquerque, in the United States, and hit a car driven by a pregnant woman. The fighter not only did not provide assistance, fleeing on foot, but also returned to the scene of the accident only to retrieve a sum of money that was in his car. Additionally, police found marijuana in his vehicle.

During the podcast he hosts, “Joe Rogan Experience”, Rogan raised the possibility that Jones' attitude was caused by the excess damage to the brain that an MMA fighter normally suffers. “You can’t hit someone’s car and run away from the scene. It's a crime, but there are things people do because they have brain damage. That's where the real question comes in. Obviously, he is responsible for his own actions, but if the brain is suffering damage and it is proven that the people who suffer from it are impulsive, it is necessary to consider whether these crazy things done by fighters are the result of getting hit in the head all the time ”, he questioned.

However, Rogan stated that, even if his explanation is true, Jones will have to pay for his actions. “I am certainly not trying to lighten the bar Jon Jones. What he did was horrible. If he had hit someone in my family's car, I would be incredibly furious. I'm very disappointed in him and I think the UFC did the right thing in taking the belt from him. I think the law will do the right thing by putting him in jail. You can’t do something like that,” he concluded.
