Albuquerque Police release report of accident involving Jon Jones

The Police Department of the city of Albuquerque, in New Mexico (USA), released the report of the traffic accident in which the UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, got involved last Sunday morning (26).

In it, it is possible to have a more accurate description of the dynamics of the crash, involving three cars. Jones, whose car is referred to as “Vehicle 3,” ran a red light at the intersection of Juan Tabo Blvd and Southern Ave, side-swiping a Honda driven by a pregnant woman, identified as Vanessa Sonnenberg. The affected car also collided with a third vehicle, a Toyota.

The report completed by the police officers who were sent to the scene of the accident states that the driver of the silver SUV had fled, and both the fugitive in question and the person responsible for the Toyota refused to help the woman. She, on the other hand, said that her husband was on his way to take her to the hospital.

The drivers of the Honda and Toyota, as well as other witnesses, stated that a black man wearing a white shirt and dark pants ran from the scene but returned to take a sum of money. Afterwards, the police report that they found marijuana and a pipe in the car, as well as documents belonging to Jonathan Jones, with information relating to MMA and the state of Nevada (where his next fight will take place, at UFC 187). Finally, the report says that the car in question was a rental, and several attempts were made to contact Jones, without success.
