“Today I fulfilled the promise I made to my mother and took the belt to her”, wrote the fighter, along with the video released on social media. Maria Mercedes, Loro's mother, passed away in 2012, due to complications from uterine cancer.
At 32 years old, Marcos “Loro” Galvão has a professional record of 17 wins, six losses and one draw. With his triumph at Bellator 135, the Amazon native became the third Brazilian to hold a belt in the organization, which already has Patrick Pitbull as featherweight champion and Douglas lima at the top of the welterweight division.
