TUF Brasil 4 debuts with good ratings, but loses audience and ends below average

Program led in the early hours, but maintained a downward trend throughout its entire run

Without making much fanfare, with the smallest volume of advertising material in the history of the attraction, the fourth edition of the The Ultimate Fighter Brazil. The timid publicity, however, did not have negative results in the audience and the reality show, boosted by the final stretch of its predecessor Big Brother Brazil, started with good numbers. However, over the 55 minutes of the inaugural episode, the program lost strength and ended below the historical average for its releases.

At 00:10, when it started, TUF scored 11,3 points, a value well above the 9 points of the third edition or the 10 obtained by the premiere of the second season. According to columnist Guga Noblat, from the newspaper “O Globo”, eight minutes later, this number had already dropped to 9,9, closer to the average of the latest versions. In the next update, the audience was already 0,2 points lower and the downward trend continued until the end of the attraction.

Despite its average performance compared to previous editions, TUF Brasil 4 was the isolated leader in the early morning audience, capturing 39% of the audience in its time slot. The numbers are preliminary indices and may change in the consolidated hearing.

In terms of audience success, the unbeatable leader is still TUF Brasil 1. Launched on the night of March 25, 2012, with a special episode lasting 1h30m, the first edition of the UFC's official reality show had nothing less than than 15 points on average in its debut, which featured the presentation of the program and the eliminatory fights of the edition led by Wanderlei Silva e Vitor belfort.

TUF Brasil 4 debuted with only half of the qualifying fights, which defined the first eight classified for the reality show tournament. The program started with Anderson Silva as one of his coaches, alongside Mauritius Shogun, but did not even mention the fact that the former champion was caught in a surprise anti-doping test and was later removed from the attraction, being replaced by Rodrigo Minotauro, on the recommendation of the Nevada Athletic Commission.
