With Anderson Silva in the debut, TUF Brasil 4 classifies first athletes to go home

The inaugural program also featured Anderson as one of the program's coaches and good victories from Bruno Korea, Dileno Lopes and Argentine Nazareno Malegarie

Surrounded by much expectation, TUF Brasil 4 began this Sunday (05) and classified the first eight athletes to enter the house in search of a contract with the UFC. Still with Anderson Silva as coach of one of the teams – he was replaced by Rodrigo Minotauro when the doping case exploded during the recordings - the initial episode brought stories of overcoming, an Argentinean who was 'good at fighting', knockouts, submissions and each athlete's dream of fighting in the UFC.

The first episode of TUF Brasil 4 began with the fighters visiting Las Vegas, the city where the program was recorded. Most of the fighters were making their first international trip. They told complicated life stories and a lot of dedication to get closer to their dream of performing on MMA's biggest stage.

When they were on the premises of the gym where they will compete in TUF, Dana White, president of the UFC, arrived on the scene with the coaches Anderson Silva e Mauricio Shogun.

The leader began his speech by praising the coaches, saying that they were the greatest commanders who have ever been on TUF. Dana made a point of citing Anderson as the greatest of all time and Shogun as a former champion with great talent. When the coaches took the floor for the first contact with the candidates for the TUF award, the speech was respectful.

“It is important that you respect each other, maintain discipline in the house and avoid vandalism. That doesn’t suit any fighter,” said Anderson in his first word with the fighters.

“Our sport has gone through a lot of prejudice and still does. We want to show people that we are human beings, that this is a profession. Let's show our professionalism and pursue our dreams without disrespecting anyone.”, added Shogun.

Before the elimination fights, Dana White invited the fighters to watch the return of Anderson Silva competitions against Nick Diaz, on January 31st. The fighters were euphoric.

Playoffs

After the initial excitement and the first contact with a UFC event passed, the first eight qualifiers of the program took place and Bruno Korea, Joaquim “Neto BJJ” Silva, Dileno Lopes, Matheus Nicolau, Glaico “Nego” França, Bruno “Bulldog” Silva, Erick “Índio Brabo” da Silva, in addition to the Argentine Nazareno Malegarie confirmed their presence in the next phase.

Bruno Korea advances with spectacular knockout over Franklyn Arrocha

In the first fight of the program, a knockout that has everything to be one of the biggest of the edition. The Fluminense Bruno Korea began the fight cautiously, waiting for Franklyn's actions. Only after two minutes did he launch his first attack, which he missed. Then, however, came the fatal blow. A taekowndo specialist, Korea landed a round kick, which exploded in Arrocha's face, who fell knocked out, with his eyes glassy.

Carlos Mistoca abuses the jokes and loses to “Netto BJJ”

Carlos Mistoca entered the octagon at TUF Brasil 4 promising an irreverent style, but the fighter from the Federal District abused his jokes. He let his guard down for several moments, asked Joaquim 'Netto BJJ' to land more blows and even put his rival in danger, coming close to ending the dispute. However, after letting his rival grow in the duel, he paid a high price.

After each athlete won a section, in the tiebreaker round, Mistoca felt an injury to his arm and was hit several times by Joaquim until the referee declared a technical knockout.

Eliminated from TUF Brasil 1, Dileno Lopes advances

After failing to get the opportunity to enter the first edition of TUF Brasil, Dileno Lopes He didn't give up and tried his luck again on TUF. In 2011, the fighter was surpassed by the champion of that edition, Ron Jason, in the knockout stage. This time, however, the Amazonian didn't waste the opportunity, he made his ground game count and submitted Renato Franguinho with a rear naked choke in the first round.

Argentinian beats Edson PC and advances

After the success of Santiago Ponzinibbio in TUF Brasil 2, the fourth edition of the program once again placed its bets on a 'hermano' athlete. Nazareno Malegarie, who trains in Santa Catarina with Thiago tavares and has experience in major international events, he showed why he is already considered one of the big favorites for the title and defeated veteran Edson PC in a unanimous decision by the judges.

In the 'Matheus' duel, Nicolau gets the better of Vasco

The program pitted two athletes of the same name face to face in the knockout phase: Minas Gerais, Matheus Nicolau against Matheus Vasco. Specialists in ground fighting, Vasco immediately tried to apply an arm-bar to his namesake. But Nicolau defended himself, he managed to excel in the ground fight to secure a choke and advance to the next phase.

Nego wins 'War Horse'

Owner of one of the most unusual nicknames on TUF Brasil 4, Raush “Cavalo de Guerra” Manfio joined the program known for training with Anderson Silva at Team Nogueira. However, despite a good first round, the Spider fans and the stylish nickname, the one who came out on top was Glaico Nego.

In the second round, he knocked Raush to the ground and when the 'War Horse' tried to get up, “Nego” locked in a rear-naked choke and forced his opponent to tap out.

Bruno Bulldog breaks Gustavo Sedório's jaw

The fight between Bruno Bulldog and Gustavo Sedório also finished with a plastic blow. In the very first movements, Bulldog, who has his origins in capoeira, applied a front kick to Sedório's chin, which he visibly felt. He continued in the fight, tried several attacks and reached the end of the round. However, when the doctor examined Gustavo's chin, the fighter had fractured his jaw and the duel had to be stopped.

In the next episode of TUF Brasil 4, 16 more athletes compete for eight spots to enter the program. In the next chapter, the coaches will select the teams and the first fight between teams will be announced.
