This is because the Tupiniquim representative Carlos Diego Ferreira ended up knocked out by Dustin poirier in the fight that opened the main card of the night.

In a warm fight, Carmouche beats Murphy

The fight that closed the preliminary card in Fairfax was marked by a lot of perspiration and little inspiration on the part of Lauren Murphy and little dedication, but good precision in the strikes and takedowns attempted on Liz Carmouche's side. This, however, meant that the combat was not the most lively.

After three rounds, Carmouche was declared the winner by unanimous decision by the judges to loud boos from the public, who seemed to have disliked both the fight and the final result. With the victory, the first challenger for the Ultimate women's bantamweight belt won again after two consecutive defeats and reached two victories and three defeats in the Octagon.

Former title challenger, Maynard loses another and gets complicated

Gray Maynard He was already one of the best lightweights in the world and had one of the most electrifying title fights in the history of Ultimate, when he drew with the then champion Frankie Edgar in 2011, but is currently going through a dark phase. Seeking rehabilitation in Fairfax, Maynard ended up suffering his fourth consecutive defeat, the fifth in six fights, and now sees his job at risk.

PUBLICITY:

The North American even had a good first round against the Russian Alexander Yakovlev, but his chin ended up showing signs of fragility in the second round, when he suffered a hard knockdown after a precise direct. Showing that he felt the blow, Maynard had difficulty recovering and ended up dominating the rest of the fight. At the end of the fight, the judges declared Yakovlev the winner by unanimous decision, two of them even pointing out the Russian's victory in all three rounds.
