Athletic Commission recommends retirement for fighter after incredible negative series

Eric Regan is certainly not one of the most successful athletes in the MMA world. Despite his long career, with 40 professional fights, Eric has a record of no less than 25 defeats. However, after another setback, against Matthew Frincu at WSOF 19, Regan was surprised by the Arizona Athletic Commission with a recommendation for retirement, in addition to the traditional medical suspension.

In addition to receiving an indefinite hook, Eric Regan's report included the following note: “Safe recommendation to stop competing.” On social media, the athlete vented and harshly criticized the regulatory body's stance. “This clearly demonstrates how biased the commission is against me. This is just another one from the corrupt Arizona Athletic Commission,” he posted.

Despite Eric's dissatisfaction with the way the Athletic Commission handled the case, its current phase is not the best. After having a career marked by alternating good and bad results, the American stopped wavering and began to suffer one defeat after another, in total eight in his last nine fights – including the second-round knockout suffered by Matthew Frincu at the World Series of Fighting.
