When he won The Ultimate Fighter Brazil in the middleweight category, Cezar Mutant emerged as a Brazilian promise in the octagon among athletes under 84 kg. However, around three years, and two defeats by knockout, later, the mutant's trajectory in the division came to an end and the pupil of Vitor belfort announced that he is moving to welterweight.

“I've already started working (to move down a category), it was something I was planning to do before my last fight to get lighter. I had back surgery, so it's more worth it than getting heavier. I'm an easy middleweight, I eat mashed potatoes during the weight cut week, so it won't be a problem to reach welterweight. I'm dieting, reducing my weight. I'm at the weight I have to be for this category, which is more or less 87kg or 88kg. I adapted really well, I feel fast, light and strong. People in the category will have to hold on tight, because Mutante is coming”, warned Cezar, in an interview with the “Combate” channel website.
And Mutante already has plans to start racing in the new division. If it depends on the fighter, his debut in the 77 kg category will happen soon and in Brazil. “I already told the UFC that I'm ready. I would like to make this debut as soon as possible. I know there is UFC in Goiânia (on May 30th) and it would be a good event to fight. I love fighting in Brazil, alongside my fans and my people”, said the former TUF champion, who already fought in the capital of Goiás in November 2013, when he beat his reality show partner Daniel sarafian.
At 30, Cezar Mutant He has a professional record of eight wins and four losses. After winning TUF Brasil and starting a streak of three consecutive victories, Mutante alternated between two defeats and just one triumph in his last three fights, including the knockout against Sam alvey at UFC Porto Alegre, on February 22nd.
