At the beginning of next month, Anderson Silva will experience an important moment for the continuity of his MMA career. On April 9, the former UFC champion will undergo a trial by the Nevada Athletic Commission regarding his doping case, which will determine the period in which the Brazilian must serve a suspension and whether there will be any other disciplinary measures to be taken.

Even before the trial, recent information released by the “Radar On-Line” blog, from “ Veja ” magazine, stated that the Brazilian had already been warned that his suspension would be 18 months. This news was categorically denied by UFC president, Dana White.
“He will have to report to the Nevada Athletic Commission and I have no idea what will happen. I know there were some rumors in Brazil that he would get 18 months, but I don't believe that's true and I don't know how anyone would know about something like that. It's just a rumor. Let’s see what happens when he presents himself to the commission”, said the director, in a recent press conference held in Brazil.
Regardless of the result, the UFC guaranteed that it will provide unconditional support to its athlete. “Anderson is a huge part of this company and regardless of the outcome of this whole story, we will support him,” said White.
Former UFC champion, Anderson Silva was caught twice in the period surrounding his last fight, against Nick Diaz, at the end of January. In tests carried out before and on the day of the fight, “Spider” had anabolic and anxiolytic substances detected in his body.
